Getting started
Do I need a Discogs account?
Yes, a free one. NeedleDroppr picks from your collection on Discogs, so you log in with your Discogs account when you first open the app.
Why does it need my Discogs login?
Logging in lets the app read your collection, even a private one, along with your folders, ratings and your collection’s value. Discogs only shares those with the collection’s owner. NeedleDroppr never sees your Discogs password, and its login key stays in the iOS Keychain on your iPhone.
How do I pick from one folder?
Tap the folder button at the top right of the main screen and choose a folder. Every pick then comes from it, until you switch back to All.

Why don’t I get the same records again?
That’s Avoid repeats: it skips the albums you dropped recently. Change how many, or turn it off, in Settings.
I added records on Discogs. Why don’t they show up?
The app checks for changes when you open it and keeps its copy of your collection no more than six hours old. To update right away, go to Settings → Collection → Refresh Now.
Can I pick only vinyl?
Yes. Turn on Vinyl only in Settings, and CDs, tapes and files are skipped.
Details
Some albums have no description.
Descriptions come from Wikipedia, and not every album has an article. If Wikipedia can’t be reached, the app says so and offers to try again.
Where are my ratings saved?
In your Discogs collection, just like rating a record on discogs.com. Tap the current rating again to clear it.
Where does the collection value come from?
From Discogs, based on Marketplace sales of the records in your collection. It’s shown in the menu when you’re logged in.
How do I log out?
Go to Settings → Discogs account → Log out. You can also remove NeedleDroppr’s access from your Discogs account’s settings.
